Tantra and ejaculation: transforming need into energy

Why talk about ejaculation?

Ejaculation is at the heart of male sexuality.

For many men, it is experienced as an uncontrollable reflex, synonymous with liberation, but also with performance and virility.

Yet it can become a prison.

Rapid ejaculation is a source of frustration and loss of energy, and reduces intimacy to a mere mechanical act.

Le Tantra suggests another way:

transform this need into inner freedom.

Where does the visceral need to ejaculate come from?

Biologically, ejaculation is an archaic reflex linked to reproduction.

The sympathetic nervous system triggers a «point of no return» to ensure the survival of the species.

But beyond biology, there is also education:

adolescent masturbation, often practised quickly and the fear of being caught out, has conditioned generations of men to seek immediate relief.

Pornography has reinforced this model, associating fast sex with ejaculation.

Result:

Why does Tantra suggest delaying or avoiding ejaculation?

Tantra does not seek to prohibit ejaculation, but to transform it.

The Kama Sutra explains that the man must prolong the union to enable the woman to reach ecstasy, and to raise himself to higher vibratory states.

  • Biologically, By not ejaculating, you preserve the essential nutrients contained in the semen: zinc, proteins, enzymes and hormones. It also avoids the post-orgasmic hormonal «down», marked by a drop in vitality.

  • Energy, the seed is considered as a vital energy condenser (ojas). Instead of being projected outwards, this energy is redirected into the body and its nadis (energy channels) through the breath, nourishing the consciousness.

  • Relationally, Conscious non-ejaculation changes everything: it opens the door to a prolonged, more attentive and profound intimacy, where the woman feels honoured and the man is freed from performance.

Testicular pain: myth or reality?

Many men fear testicular pain, sometimes called «blue balls», when they don't go all the way to ejaculation.

In reality, this sensation is linked to blood congestion, not an «overload» of sperm.

Semen is produced continuously, stored and then naturally reabsorbed by the body when it is not expelled. There is therefore no physiological danger in not ejaculating.

The pain arises above all when the man experiences this retention in frustration and tension.

How is energy transmuted?

Tantra teaches precise tools for transforming sexual energy rather than discharging it.

  • Deep breathing : It guides energy from the pelvis to the spine and heart.
  • Bandhas (yoga practice), play an essential role:
     - Mūla bandha (contraction of the perineum): prevents loss and creates an energy lock.
     - Uḍḍīyāna bandha (raising the diaphragm): channels energy upwards.
     - Jālandhara bandha (throat tightening): stabilises circulation.
  • Breath-holding (kumbhaka): they intensify this absorption and allow you to feel waves of pleasure circulating throughout your body.

But beyond technique, it is essential to open the heart.

If the man concentrates solely on «not ejaculating», he remains a prisoner of control.

The essence of Tantra is to expand in love and consciousness.

The benefits of conscious non-ejaculation

Retention or delayed ejaculation is a genuine means of liberation.

When chosen and practised consciously, It becomes a way of inhabiting its energy and transforming it.

Here are some of the benefits:

  • Physics : the body regains greater vitality, recovers better after the act, and regains a new tone that can be felt both during sex and in everyday life.

  • Emotional : calm sets in. The man is no longer dominated by an obsession with immediate pleasure, but discovers an inner serenity and deeper confidence.

  • Energy : orgasm ceases to be an end point. Energy begins to circulate throughout the body, opening the door to a diffuse, vibrant pleasure that goes beyond the boundaries of sex.

  • Relationship : the pleasure is prolonged, the attention to the other is refined. The meeting becomes a sharing, an intimate dance where everyone can let themselves go without fear of “the end”.

  • Spiritual : beyond the body, it's a way of connecting. The energy retained and transmuted opens the way to states of expanded consciousness, à a more subtle ecstasy that nourishes the soul.

Practical advice for men

Practising this path requires patience and gentleness.

Here are a few simple tips to get you started:

  1. A new way of looking at things: no longer consider ejaculation as the ultimate goal, but as one possibility among others. The journey counts as much, if not more, than the outcome.

  2. Breathing consciously : deep, rhythmic breathing helps energy to circulate and calms the mind, which pushes you to unload.

  3. Practising Mūlabandha: This gentle contraction of the pelvic floor helps to control energy and redirect it towards the upper body.

  4. Learning to postpone : approaching orgasm, then slowing down, withdrawing or changing rhythm, coming down slightly before coming up again.

  5. Being present : pay attention not just to the genital area, but to the whole body, to the breath, to the other person's gaze.

It's progressive training.

Living testimonies

The story of a couple: Julien and Claire

Julien and Claire have been in love for years.

Their intimacy is tender, but often marked by speed:

  • momentum,
  • the climb,
  • ejaculation, as an inevitable mechanism.

One evening, they decided to explore in a different way.

As the wave rises, Julien slows down, takes a breath and looks into Claire's eyes.

She understands and supports him.

Little by little, their union becomes an interplay of rhythms: accelerate, slow down, stop, resume.

The pleasure does not disappear: it is prolonged, diffused and amplified.

Claire feels honoured by this new attention.

Julien discovers that to love is not to run towards an end, but to live in each moment.

Their sexuality is no longer a race, but an infinite dance.

And in this dance, love reveals itself to be wider and deeper, like a fire that never goes out.

Individual story: Thomas and the spiritual path

Thomas has been on a spiritual journey for a long time, but by keeping his body at a distance.

Her sexuality seemed to contradict her high ideals.

One day, he dared to experiment conscious retention. When he feels ejaculation approaching, he takes a deep breath, slightly contracts his perineum and guides his breath upwards.

Then something changes.

Energy doesn't escape: it circulates, it radiates.

Thomas discovers that sexuality is not an obstacle to the spiritual life, but a means of elevation.

Her orgasms become cosmic waves, her states of ecstasy nourish her soul.

And above all, a gentle fullness that lasts for hours, sometimes days.

Sexuality is no longer impulsive: it becomes sacred.

The link with tantric massage

Tantric massage is an ideal way to experience this transformation.

Provided, of course, that you find a real initiator (read my article on this subject). ICI to help you find your way).

He learns to taste pleasure without trying to come to an end, to welcome waves of energy without ejaculating, and to develop a fine-tuned awareness of the body and emotions.

It's an initiation that helps people break out of their automatisms and enter into a broader relationship with pleasure, intimacy and others.

But make no mistake: this practice deepens over time, because it runs through the whole being and gradually transforms the way we experience our bodies and our encounters.

Conclusion: from instinct to freedom

Ejaculation is natural, but it is not the only way for men to express their sexuality.

Le Tantra suggests transforming this reflex into a source of vitality, love and awareness.

Not ejaculating is not a renunciation, but a choice to broaden the experience:

  • from impulse to inner freedom,
  • from instinct to cosmic pleasure.

These practices cannot be invented: they have to be learned step by step.

This is the path I teach in my massages and my courses, to make sexuality both an art of love and a means of elevation.
