Between a stable relationship and intense passion: this inner conflict
Many people experience an inner conflict between emotional stability and the need for emotional intensity.
Behind this hesitation, deep fears often lie, a need for excitement, or difficulty in fully feeling desire within a secure relationship.
She came to me in a panic.
In her life, her relationship isn't “perfect” but her husband is present, with their two children.
They have long-term plans and solid commitments.
And yet... something inside her screamed.
Recently, another man had come into her life.
An unexpected, electric encounter that rekindled a flame in her that she had thought had been extinguished for years.
A craving to buzz,
to feel alive,
to get lost
and to find themselves in an intensity she had never known.
But how do you choose?
Between safety and passion?
Between the love we build and the love that strikes us?
And above all...
How can we avoid betraying everything we've built?
What if, deep down, choosing intensity also meant choosing yourself for the first time?
- The impossible choice... or the healthy one
This type of dilemma is not uncommon.
At certain crossroads in our lives, we have to choose between :
- what reassures and what awakens,
- between fidelity to our commitments and fidelity to our soul.
These decisions are often experienced as betrayals – of others, of ourselves.
But they are also opportunities for rebirth.
Because choosing intensity is not necessarily choosing destruction.
Sometimes it means daring to live fully, differently.
What this woman confided in me was not a whim or a passing fancy.
It was a call from the body, a burst of life.
And behind this impossible choice, there was a simple, brutal, but essential question:
Do I choose myself ?
The visceral need to vibrate
Some people live very well with stability, calm and regularity.
Others, without moments of fire, fade away.
There are those for whom a quiet evening is enough to fill their energy gauge.
And then there are those for whom the heart needs to race, for whom a life without thrills, without surprises, without waves... is... a dream. a life half lived.
This need for intensity can manifest itself in many ways:
- a desire to fall madly in love,
- a search for thrills,
- new projects to build,
- experiences like dancing, travelling, the massage,
- or, more insidiously, compulsions: shopping, sex, food, social networking.
Because when intensity does not find its conscious way, it turns away and drives us to seek stimuli that do not nourish, but distract us.
- When everyday life turns us off
Most people do not lack comfort.
They lack excitement.
Those moments when time stands still, when the body trembles, when life throbs.
It's not comfort that kills, it's routine that anaesthetises.
And the more we try to control and predict everything, the more we lose sight of what's essential:
the unexpected, the mystery, the feeling of existing.
For fear of disappointing,
no need to stay on track,
We eventually silence this inner cry.
And one day that cry comes out - in burn-out, infidelity, collapse, or simply sadness.
Allowing yourself to be intense
So how do you go about it?
Do you have to burn everything to find the spark again?
Do we have to follow every impulse to honour our vitality?
Not necessarily.
But we urgently need to restore intensity to our lives:
- To create spaces where you can feel strongly,
- To awaken the body, through breath, touch and dance,
- To reconnect with our deepest desires, not the ones that society values, but the ones that make us come alive.
Because an intense life is not a disorderly life.
It's an inhabited, vibrant life, in keeping with who we are deep down.
And you... do you choose yourself?
It's not an insignificant question.
It's perhaps the only one that works.
Choosing oneself does not mean shirking one's responsibilities or despising those who love us.
It is honouring that precious fire which inhabits us.
He who says:
I'm alive, and I want to feel it.
Intensity is not a crisis, it's a wake-up call.
- If you feel that your body is crying out for more than days of ticking boxes,
- if your heart is beating for something you can't name...maybe it's time to listen.
Because intensity, when consciously embraced, can become your greatest ally.
What if, before making a choice, we first had to welcome each other?
When you're faced with such a profound tension between passion and safety, you don't need advice.
It's a space where you can hear what's really vibrating inside you, without fear, without pressure, without masks.
This is what I propose through my tantric approach.
A space for listening to the body, the breath and buried desires.
Subtle support to clarify, feel and reconnect.
Because sometimes it's not the world you have to run away from.
You have to come back to yourself, consciously, gently... and in truth.
Word of one Tantrika,
Hajira
